Feeding Our Community Ministry Through the Food Bank of Manatee County, Our Church is one of more than 115 agencies and Food Pantries providing food to our neighbors in need. Did you know . . *Recent statistics showed that nearly 40% of families in the Bradenton/Sarasota/Venice area reported an inability to provide enough food for their kids. There are more than 1,500 homeless children in the Manatee School System, and at least 1,000 more who are not school-age or not reported. These children most at risk for the dangers of malnutrition. *In the United States, more than one out of five children lives in a household with food insecurity, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.7 million children under 18 in the United States live in this condition – unable to consistently access nutritious and adequate amounts of food necessary for a healthy life.
