The fundamental element to a healthy spiritual life is nutrition. From birth, the intake of vital nutrients is essential to the growth and development of a healthy individual. Good nutrition is essential in establishing and maintaining a good foundation that has implications on physical and mental health, academic achievement, and economic productivity. Unfortunately, food insecurity is an obstacle that threatens that critical foundation. In the United States, more than one out of five children lives in a household with food insecurity, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.7 million children under 18 in the United States live in this condition – unable to consistently access nutritious and adequate amounts of food necessary for a healthy life.
Rogers Community United Methodist Church is committed to help alleviate the impact of hunger for the residents of East Manatee County, but we need your help. As a result of the current economic downturn in our community, our local resources have been unable to keep pace with our growing demand. While we continue to work with other non-profit organizations for long term solutions to remedy this condition, there remain families in need of your help. Your donation will make a lasting impact on the lives of others. Please consider helping us to help others. Please click on the donate button and give.
